This engine is mostly 3D printed, and was designed to drive an RC car. It took about 10 hours to design in CAD and maybe 15-20 hours of 3D printing. We managed to reach 3000RPM with a very makeshift flywheel... Next step is to attach a proper flywheel and drive system to power a 1/8 RC car. A hall effect encoder wouldn't hurt to add either so that the Arduino speed controller knows what position the engine is in, resulting in more torque.
