Build your own hand-powered LED flashlight from a CD or DVD drive, an LED and a paperclip. Quick DIY project. It uses a tray motor and gears from an old CD / DVD drive to generate enough power to light up an LED. This is a real free energy. No batteries needed. You can even use 2 LEDs in antiparallel, one will light up in each direction of rotation. A parallel capacitor can be added to get more steady light output (with maybe a schottky diode in series to prevent reverse current from the capacitor to the motor). A Joule Thief could be connected to the device to get higher voltage or to light up an LED at a lower RPM.
