The Saudi foreign minister says Iran’s nuclear deal will provide it with extra money, which he claims Tehran may use to fund quote-nefarious activities. In an interview with Reuters, Adel al-Jubeir also insisted that his country would not negotiate on its faith and security. Saudi Arabia has been calling for tough inspections of Iran’s nuclear program and the possibility for resuming sanctions against the country. Jubeir's remarks come amid a deepening row between the two countries over the execution of Senior Shia cleric Sheikh Nimr Baqer al-Nimr in earlier this month. Tensions mounted after Riyadh severed all its diplomatic ties with Tehran over an attack on its embassy in Tehran. Saudi Arabia has persuaded a number of Arab states to follow suit. Iran has long criticized Saudi Arabia for destabilizing regional countries by funding Takfiri terrorist groups. Tehran has also condemned Riyadh for its deadly offensive against Yemen.
