Review of Samsung's Galaxy A90 5G smartphone after a week of personal use, covering the performance, camera tech, battery life, OneUI features and more. I've been using the A90 5G as my full-time handset and here's why only early adopters of the next-gen network tech should consider a purchase.
This £670 mobile costs a lot less than Samsung's first S10+ 5G smartphone, yet a lot of sacrifices have been made to the specs and hardware. For one, the camera smarts have been scaled back. Gone is the dual aperture support, OIS, telephoto lens and low light abilities. This Galaxy falls behind rivals like the Zenfone 6, P30 Pro and OnePlus 7T for optics and many other features.
That said, the performance and battery life are superb. The Samsung A90 5G can blaze through games like PubG Mobile and last all day long even with intensive use. I also like the 6.7-inch Super AMOLED screen, even if it's not a proper 'infinity display'.
My full camera review is live right now so you can see how this Galaxy smartphone stacks up to others for photo and video quality. Check out my unboxing for a closer look at those OneUI features as well - here's hoping we get Android 10 soon.
You can grab the Samsung Galaxy A90 5G right now from Vodafone, from £47 a month, and you'll get a free pair of the rather good Buds as a bonus:
