How to build an electric motor for Science Fair.
Jacob and Sam from Make Science Fun demonstrate how to build a simple D.C Battery operated electric motor using some simple lego bits and an old computer hard drive.
You can use small super magnets and enamelled copper wire from other sources if you can’t find a computer hard drive.
One of the most important things when building an electric motor for a Science Fair project is to make sure it is able to spin freely when the battery is not connected. Friction can quickly cause these small motors to not work.
To make it an experiment, try using different voltage batteries and see how it affects the speed. Or even try different strength magnets.
