This is how to modify your iPhone to a night vision! Simply see in the dark! It turned out that this hack is very simple in an iPhone 6S clone. The infrared (IR) filter is on the lens, not on the chip (CCD / CMOS sensor) and the camera is a very simple focus free type, so it is not a problem to remove the IR filter. Then you just add IR LED illumination and that's it. Use 850nm IR LEDs with about 35 - 50° angle. I have used 5mm 100mA types (HIRB5-43G-C). Look for most efficient ones (IR LED radiant power is measured in mW/sr). IR LEDs can be connected instead of the original flash LED, but some cameras turn off the flashlight function when camera is active. So you can connect the IR LEDs directly to the battery just via a resistor and a switch. This also allows for more power. Some types of plastic and other materials may be transparent in IR light, so this hacked iPhone can also work as an X-ray vision :).

WARNING: Fire hazard! The Li-Ion (Li-Pol) battery can ignite or explode at any time, especially when in short circuit, damaged, punctured, heated or overcharged. Intense infrared light can be harmful for eyes. When moving in dark, you may suffer an injury. I do not take any responsibility for any of your harm. You do everything at your own risk. This modification voids your warranty.
