QF-16 "Fighting Falcon" Flight • 4th Gen Aerial Target

The QF-16 "Fighting Falcon" is a full-scale aerial target that's modified to fly with a pilot for training, or to fly remotely for live missile testing. The QF-16 Aerial Target introduces fourth-generation fighter capabilities to the aerial target mission. The QF-16 replaced the QF-4 "Phantom" Aerial Target, which flew its last unmanned mission August 17, 2016. This flight on February 10, 2017 represents the official start of the QF-16 program at Holloman Air Force Base, NM.
