Learning Small Electrical Motor Repair As I Go on a Shop Vac

My shop vac was getting hot and smelling burnt so i needed help. I couldn't find any online videos showing how to take apart and clean parts of a motor, so I decided to try it myself. The only problem is, although the bushing is cleaner, after a bit of use, it still seems to have a problem. If you know of something else I might try, I'm all eyes! I have read how to fix a small electric motor in ehow but really think I need some visual aids so if you know where to find them, in particular the kind of motor for a shop vac, I'd appreciate it.
