There is no need for everyone to become Muslim for the reappearance to take place.

The Imam of the Time (‘a.j.) won’t come to say, “I’ll do everything that is needed to govern the society. You can be active a little, earn some money, and have fun.”

“(God), make the religion that you are satisfied with be established by him.” (Iftitah Supplication)

Which religion is meant here? Is there any religion or religions, which the Almighty God is not satisfied with? Maybe it is referring to this verse of the Qur’an, “Today, the unbelievers have lost hope about your religion. Do not be afraid of them but have fear of Me. On this day I have perfected your religion, completed My favours to you, and have chosen Islam as your religion.” (Qur’an 5:3) On the day of Ghadir Khom, God said, “Today, I have become satisfied with this religion and it has become completed for you. Today, I see this religion to be a complete religion for you.”

God is pleased with a religion, which has Guardianship as its axis. This doesn’t mean only believing in it. If just believing was enough, we believe in Guardianship and Imamate right now. We haven’t established it yet. It hasn’t yet been put into practice. In fact, the right to self-determination will be given to people at that time. In fact, it is at that time that people will feel responsible and participate actively in managing their lives.

The Imam of the Time (‘a.j.) won’t come to say, “I’ll do everything that is needed to govern the society. You can be active a little, earn some money, and have fun. You don’t need to worry about the society anymore. The responsibilities of encouraging for good and dissuading from bad, supervising affairs, holding meetings and consulting, and planning to manage things better are all removed from you. My companions and I will do everything.”

If it is going to be like this, why do we have this many commands in our religion? The Imam (‘a.j.) will provide the foundation for the earnest participation of people, a participation, which some claim to have right now. The Imam will truly establish a government by the people, a system, which the west falsely claims to have.

When Imam Mahdi (‘a.j.) establishes the government of Guardianship, he will give freedom to people with the power of his absolute Guardianship. If we define the religion with Guardianship well, some people in the world will love it even if they don’t believe in our religion, don’t pray our prayers, don’t wear Islamic covering, and don’t adhere to many of our religious rulings. They will certainly come after our Guardianship. As you can see, basically the same thing has happened about Aba Abdillah al-Husayn (‘a). Many don’t believe in our religion, but they see Imam Husayn (‘a) as a model for themselves of a freedom-seeking leader.

There is no need for all the people in the world to believe in our religion, then ask for the reappearance of the Imam of the Time (‘a.j.) and his government. Everyone wants development and prosperity. People are tired of the ways, which have been presented in the world and made people hopeless.

Preparing for the reappearance doesn’t mean making everyone Muslim in the world and pushing all the Muslims to believe in our faith. It is enough if we explain the way that the Imam (‘a.j.) will govern. Then, people will ask, “Is this method really feasible?” And, we ask them, “Could there be any other method to rescue humankind?”

A religion, which God is satisfied with, is not a religion, which has prayer, fasting, etc. in it, except guardianship. A religion, which God is satisfied with, is a religion in which Guardianship has been established. The Imam (‘a.j.) will provide the foundation for the earnest participation of people, a participation, which some claim to have right now. In fact, the right to self-determination will be given to people at that time. The Imam (‘a.j.) will truly establish a government by the people
