Teardown and review of the allocacoc PowerCube. Just put an extension socket into a strange shape and give it a cool name and you have a business :). It can have a remote control, but the remote is being sold separately. It has a plug, 4 sockets and an ON-OFF switch with LED indicator. It can switch up to 16A at 220 / 230 / 240V. Its own power consumption is 0.25W in off state and 0.59W in on state. The remote probably works at 433 or 868 MHz. The PowerCube has a 5V switching power supply with a proper fuse, EMI filter and an 8-pin chip. The RF receiver has an unmarked 16-pin chip, that may be a Synoxo SYN470R. There's also a third chip, S003F3P6 microcontroller. The power is switched using a 16A 250V relay with a 5V coil. Strangely, one of the 4 sockets has German Schuko F style guides, despite it is a French style E socket. Only universal European plug fits into it, not the pure E or F. plug The other 3 sockets are normal French E sockets.
